Cattlemen’s Steakhouse Accolades and Awards

Cattlemen’s Steakhouse Accolades and Awards

Whether you’re an Oklahoma City local or are visiting for a few days, a stop at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse is a must. As the city’s oldest and most iconic eatery, we’ve got the best steak and sides for miles and a laundry list of awards, honors, and mentions to prove it.

What kind of honors are we talking about? Check out some of our many accolades below to discover just how many folks are celebrating Cattlemen’s as one of the best steak restaurants in the greater OKC area and the United States.

National Steak House Hall of Fame Inductee

Induction into the National Steak House Hall of Fame is a distinction that few steak-serving eateries hold, and we’re incredibly honored to be one of them. For more than a century, we’ve put our heart and soul into every meal we serve, and this accolade accurately reflects just how much we care about our patrons’ complete satisfaction.

Southern Living Awards

In May 2023, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse was deemed the “best locally owned restaurant in Oklahoma” by Southern Living Magazine. The folks at Southern Living had great things to say about our lamb fries appetizer, our widely loved house dressing, and of course, our iconic and incredible steaks. We completely agree and are honored to hold this amazing accolade!

In addition to our distinction as Oklahoma’s best locally owned restaurant, we were also granted a marvelous mention in Southern Living’s “Off the Eaten Path” cookbook. According to the book’s authors, we are the “best damned steakhouse in the country. Period.”

Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and Man vs. Food

When Guy Fieri or Adam Richman show up at your restaurant to sing its praises to the public, you know you’ve done something great. We’re honored to have been featured on not just one but two of the most well-loved food reality television shows in the United States.

What did each host have to say about us? We were recognized not only for the quality of our steaks (and other menu items too!) but also for our atmosphere and exemplary customer service.

1,000 Places to See Before You Die Mention

You might not think of a steak restaurant as one of the many sites you should see before you expire, but we think we’re worthy of such a distinction, and apparently, other people do too. Author Patricia Shultz included us in her travel book, “1,000 Places to See Before You Die,” and after dining with us, you’ll definitely understand why.

We’re truly honored and hope this book helps every steak lover in the land have the opportunity to sink their teeth into one of the most amazing slabs of meat they’ll ever enjoy.

500 Things to Eat Before It’s Too Late Mention

If you salivate at the mere thought of steak, you can’t deny yourself a trip to Cattlemen’s in Oklahoma City. Jane and Michael Stern’s restaurant guidebooks, “500 Things to Eat Before You Die” and “Roadfood,” say so too. Our lamb fries, steak soup, and of course, steak are mentioned in the book, and we’re honored to hold a place on these pages among some of the best eateries in the United States.

Bon Appetit Mention

Our famous potato skins were cited in Bon Appetit magazine as a “favorite steak-dinner starter.” We’re honored to have been mentioned in such an esteemed publication!
